Egg Carton Characters

These egg carton characters are super fun to make! Follow the instructions below to create your own egg carton barnyard!

Materials You Need: 

• Egg Cartons- cardboard 
• Glue 
• Scissors 
• Googly eyes, Pipe Cleaners, Pom-poms, Cotton Balls 
• Scraps of Craft Paper 
• Acrylic Paint and Paintbrushes  
• Clear Sealer Spray
• A Shoebox or Tissue Box

Instructions: 

1. Cut out the individual egg cups (the part the egg sits in). 
2. Trim around each cup until you have smooth, even tops. 
3. Glue two cups together with the cut edges touching in the middle. Allow the glue to dry.
4. When the glue is dry you can paint the cups with acrylic paint. Plan accordingly to match the animals you want to make. For a pig, you would paint it pink, red for a hen, or brown for a horse. There are lots of animals you can make!
5. When the paint is dry you can glue or paint on eyes, nose, and mouth. 
6. Use craft paper scraps to make ears, noses, and tails. Match the details of the animal to your egg carton! Reference our pictures of barn animals for an example.
7. Use a tissue box or shoebox to make a barn. You can use paint or cover it with craft paper to get the design you want. 
8. When you are finished decorating, spray the barn and animals with clear sealer spray.
